You will need to figure out how many cards you plan to ship. This will help you determine what you will ship the cards in – a large or small mailer or a cardboard box. Below are other items you will need:

• Bubble Wrap and/or packing peanuts
• Team bag
• Top loader
• Either a small/large bubble mailer or a cardboard box – depending on how many cards you plan to ship
• Masking Tape or blue painters tape

Once you have the items listed above you are ready to start protecting your baseball cards.

The most important thing to remember are the corners. Shipping baseball cards through the mail can be devastating if the corners are not taken care of, which is why you will need the items listed above. There are a few ways to protect the corners using cardboard, a top loader and/or tape.

Tip – Do not use scotch tape!!

After doing research, we found that the best tape to use on the corners is either masking tape or blue painters tape. Both will not leave a sticky residue on your cards and is easily removed after shipping.

Once the corners have been wrapped with tape, either place the cards in a top loader or between two pieces of cardboard. Be careful with the taping of the pieces of cardboard so you do not tape the baseball card.

If you are using cardboard, you should use a team bag as well to prevent moisture from ruining the card. The top loader should protect from moisture.

And lastly, after the cards have been wrapped to protect the corners and from moisture, keep the cards from moving around in the box with bubble wrap and/or packing peanuts. Any movement during transit could cause damage to the baseball cards, which is why they should not be able to move – packed tightly!
