It’s Never Too Late to Graduate from College

A super star senior by the name of Nola Ochs has shown us all that it is never too late to learn. Many times, we take a year or two off before we start college and for some of us we become a parent and put our education on hold until our kids start full time school and we are in our 30s or 40s, but for Nola she put her education on hold for over 70 years! Nola Ochs graduated from college in 2007 when she was 95 years old. Not only that, she went back and received her masters in 2010 at age 98 – that is incredible!

A little back story on Nola Ochs.

In 1930, Nola started her education at Fort Hays State University. She started a family and put her education on hold. Nola has 4 sons, 13 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids. All of whom, she can be very proud of! But soon she felt as though something was missing, so she decided to start taking a few classes. Before she knew it, she was only 30 credits from graduating.

Not only did Nola graduate with a masters in liberal studies, but she was able to attend the University with her 21 year old granddaughter. Everyone in her classes was very nice and accepted her as one of the students.

Nola feels that age is just a that, a number. She feels that as long as your mind is there along with your health, you can do anything at any age.
